What we promise, and what we can't.

It is free, and that is not a trial

There is no paid tier for people looking for a church and there will not be one. No ads, no upsell, no feature held back. Churches pay to manage their own listing, and that is where the money comes from.

A church paying us buys no position in your results. It cannot rank higher, it cannot appear when it does not match what you asked for, and it gets no badge or highlight. That is enforced in the code rather than promised here — the part of the system that orders churches cannot read anything about who is paying. The thing most likely to go wrong

Service times change and we do not always find out straight away. We check churches regularly, we say on every profile when we last checked, and we stop presenting a fact as verified when people tell us it is wrong. None of that makes us right every time.

So: if it is a first visit, or a long drive, or a Sunday you have worked up to, ring the church or look at their own site before you set off. We would rather say that plainly than have you find a locked door.

What we do not check

We describe what churches teach and do, from their own words and their own denominations. We do not vet them. Being listed on Churchfit is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or any kind of statement that a church is safe, well run, or good.

We have no role in what happens between you and a church, and we cannot intervene in one. If something goes wrong there, we are not the people who can help — but we would still like to know, so we can look at whether that church should be listed.

Using it fairly

• —Use it to find a church. That is what it is for, and everything in it is free.
• —Do not scrape it. The church data comes from churches and denominations, and much of it we are only allowed to show, not to hand on.
• —Do not use the assistant as a load generator, a jailbreak target or a general-purpose chatbot. It costs us real money per message and it is here for one job.
• —Do not submit false reports about a church. Three reports take a fact off the site, and that mechanism only works if people use it honestly.

If you tell a church you are coming

That is the only time anything about you leaves Churchfit, it only happens because you asked, and we send exactly what you approved. We cannot promise the church will read it, reply, or do anything at all with it. Most will. We are not able to make them.

When something is wrong

Every fact on a profile has a way to report it. Three separate people reporting the same fact takes it off the site as verified immediately, before anyone at our end has looked. If you are from a church and something about your listing is wrong, that same button is the fastest route, and you can also claim the listing and correct it yourself.

What we are responsible for

We give Churchfit to you as it is, and we do not promise it will be available, accurate or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what follows from using it — including a journey to a church whose service time had changed.

That paragraph is doing what those paragraphs do. It does not change the part we take seriously: a wrong service time is the worst thing this product can do to someone, and we build accordingly.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. We are not going to introduce a charge for people looking for a church, because that would make it a different product and we would rather stop.
