What a Sunday feels like
Village Church worships on Sunday morning at 10am at 130 E. Juneau Ave. The building was once a bar and, in the church's own words, it doesn't look like a "church". Street parking is limited; there are pay parking lots across Edison St. and north of the church across McKinley St. Readings come from Rev. Dr. Wil Gafney's Womanist Lectionary, and the words of the prayers, litanies and other parts of worship change every week, sometimes written by members of the congregation. Liturgies are often original and draw on drama, poetry, visual arts and a variety of musical styles. Services are recorded and posted on the church's YouTube channel.
